As we light our chalice, our common light, let us be reminded that this flame embodies the spirit of love, the spirit of life. It is our birthright and our responsibility – our most precious gift and our greatest offering.
Rituals, whether old or new, mark significant times in our lives. They can be powerful because they invite us pause in a moment together. They encourage us to tenderly recognize moments of great meaning. Weddings, baby dedications, and memorials are just a few ways that we celebrate life’s passages. Seasonal rituals have a special appeal to me. The celebration of the Winter Solstice and an Apple Communion are two ways that I have created community ritual.
