I was humbled to be honored by President Obama at White House for my innovative work in advancing sustainable agriculture.

2008 USDA Costa Rican Agriculture Tour

Awarded a 10-day trip to Costa Rica to tour all aspects of Costa Rican agriculture, including organic farms, fern farms, banana, pineapple, sugar cane, and papaya farms and processing facilities. Hosted by the University of Costa Rica.

Presented with Innovative Program Award for Latino farmers and Local Multicultural Food and Marketing Systems.
2010 Iowa Farmer’s Union Agricultural Educator of the Year

Named educational “Friend of the Family Farmer Award” presented at state annual convention.
2012 President’s Service Award

Earned for volunteer services to the Iowa Veteran’s home.
