Transylvanian Scholar

UUA/Meadville Lombard Transylvanian Scholar

I was awarded, through competitive application, with two trips to the Unitarian Seminary in Kolozsvár, Transylvania, in Romania. My experience in Transylvania was a reminder to say “yes” to what life offers you. As the Meadville Lombard Theological School Transylvanian Scholar, I helped teach English to seminarians, visited my home congregation’s partner church in Tordotfalva, and spent some time with the Unitarian Bishop. The first visit was deemed a success but a more structured program was desired for future visits. I was invited to return the following year to provide additional support for the program at the seminary.

These are the Unitarian seminarians. We spent much time together practicing our English, discussing all that we have in common, and what is unique to our religious traditions. We sang together, a lot! Here we are singing “This Little Light of Mine.” lindaallseminary
